The Every Child campaign is calling for the wellbeing of children and young people to be elevated as a national priority in Australia.

Central to the campaign is the need to connect with children, young people and families in regions and cities around Australia.

There are four main reasons why it is important to have a strong public engagement strategy that puts the interests of children, young people and parents at the heart of the Every Child campaign, to:

  • Broaden public understanding of the many factors critical to child and youth wellbeing and development, like quality education and health care; personal safety; secure housing; economic security and emotional wellbeing.
  • Promote positive thinking about the role we must all play in our communities to support the wellbeing of children and young people, and to avoid the negative thinking and blame that is directed at some parents and families.
  • Influence government action to advance the wellbeing of children, young people and their families.
  • Use public consultation and research evidence to inform advocacy of policy positions to government that advance the wellbeing of children, young people and their families.

The measure of the success of the Every Child campaign will be how well we engage with you. If you have ideas and activities that we should know about, let us know. If you have ways of engaging with children, young people, families and/or service provider networks that we could be part of, let us know.
